Class Descriptions

The class descriptions provide a general overview. Each instructor brings their own personality to the class, so please also see our Instructor Bios to further insight into their class.

  • Power Yoga:  A vigorous, challenging, calorie-burning form of yoga in a hot room ( 95 °). that continuously flows through a sequence of poses which are connected to the breath. Please let the instructor know of any limitations you may have, as the sequences can be easily adapted for everybody.
  • Vinyasa:  A flow class at a slower pace in a warm room( 80 - 85°) that is generally suited for all levels.
  • Anusara Inspired :  The fastest growing style of yoga, Anusara is based on the principles of alignment developed by John Friend. This uplifting, inspiring class is slightly slower paced with longer holds to get deeper into postures. Ivana leads a heart opening class that you are sure to enjoy. Warm room (80 - 85°)
  • Gentle Yoga :  A slower, kinder class for those seeking a softer approach to opening the body and growing within the postures. Focuses on soothing warm-up stretches and and gentle, strength building poses. Moves at a slower pace with emphasis on alignment, centering, balancing and breathing. Ideal for beginning practitioners, older students, or those who prefer a more moderate, Hatha based form of yoga. (Room temp. 75 - 80°)
  • PranaVayu Power:   Pranavayu Level 2/3:  For those with yoga experience.  This challenging vinyasa class is designed to help you take your practice to the next level, accompanied by a refreshing alternative soundtrack. Pranavayu classes are strategically sequenced to make difficult poses more accessible.  Explore inversions, arm balances, and advanced postural variations in a fun and supportive way.  Come ready for a serious workout and a deep meditation.  Warm room (80 - 85°)
  • Yin Yoga:  A distinct style of Chinese yoga that targets the connective tissue such as ligaments, tendons, and joints, rather than muscles as many yoga styles do. Yin Yoga is different from Power or Vinyasa style of yoga, in that it asks you to hold poses for a longer period of time to really reach your connective tissues and allow for greater opening in your joints. This can be challenging for some people, but the approach works to maintain flexibility as we age. Lisa Parson has a wonderful way about her, and we are thrilled to have her teaching this new (to our schedule) style of yoga. Warm room (80 - 85°)
  • Restorative:  An essential class for practitioners of all levels. All poses are done in a meditative atmosphere with a focus on the breath. Using bolsters and props for gentle support, postures are held for extended periods in order to delve deeper into each pose and muscle group. This class calms the spirit and nervous system while it penetrates deeply into the hips, hamstrings and shoulders. Warm room (80 - 85°) Bring a Blanket :)
  • Community Yoga:  A $5 yoga class designed to serve the community in several ways. With a warm and welcoming style, Lisa Faia teaches this class to all levels. It is a great class to start with if you are new to yoga.
